What is it?
An LA-owned facilities management firm. The company operates out of 36 locations nationwide, providing LAs with a wide range of frontline services while working to deliver cost efficiencies.
What does it do?
Norse Group’s primary specialisms include trade waste, cleaning, ground maintenance and catering.
What makes it different?
The company’s breadth of services allow schools and LAs to deal with a unified provider and a single point of contact, generating time and cost savings.
What can school leaders expect in terms of ongoing support and response from that point of contact?
This will depend on the type of service. With catering, for instance, low level issues and queries that can’t be resolved by a school’s catering supervisors can be directed to their Norse Group account manager. More involved issues and matters relating to staffing can be advanced to an operations manager, who oversees a mobile relief team that will attend to schools in the event of absences, sickness or paid leave. Beyond that, more serious issues can escalated to Norse Group’s head of operations or facilities.
The local support network schools can call on will vary according to type of work involved. With a facilities contract involving repairs and maintenance, this network will encompass a ground-level operative assigned a cluster of schools and heading up a 24/7 callout team. Complementing this will be a helpdesk facility able to deploy engineers to schools, depending on the nature of the issue.
